Background story
I love mysteries and I love Poirot.
Unfortunately, sometimes I find it really hard to understand who's who in the TV-series. Sometimes the same character is referred by his first name in one scene, by his last name in another, and by his relationship (being an uncle or brother or whatever) in a third scene. Sometimes two characters look similar.
At one point I felt enough is enough and decided to write down every character in the episodes I watched. It soon became a lot more involved than I had planned, and now I have written down the characters and information on their presentation for almost every episode of the TV-series.
I tried to save time by copying the Cast list from Wikipedia, but it turns out the Cast lists I could find are incomplete, and sometimes there are even people on the cast that aren't in the episode.
An acquaintance of mine (my mother) asked if she could see my data for the next time she was to see Poirot. I figured that since I already had done a lot of work with this, why not complete the project by getting it into presentable form and posting it online. So here we are.
Are there spoilers?
On each episode, I have written down the characters as they are presented. Essentially you're not getting much more clues to the mystery than you're supposed to.
So if someone is presented to be Uncle Tom who has been overseas for 20 years, I will write that he's Uncle Tom who travelled 20 years ago, even if it's later revealed that his name is Dave and he's been in London living next door to Alice for the past 20 years.
At the bottom of some pages, I have also sometimes written lists of objects or locations related to the episode. These are sometimes clues to the story, and other times just tidbits of information. They can hardly be called spoilers. But if read carefully may give clues that could help you solve the mysteries faster. If you don't want such clues, you should stay away until after you've seen the episode.
For my own part, I plan to revisit these pages in 10 years time when I have forgotten most of the episodes, and use the information here as sort of an "already filled out notebook". Useful for any detective / mystery solver (except Hercule Poirot who has it all in "the little grey cells").
